Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day Covers 1960s Hit “I Think We’re Alone Now”

“I figure if we have to spend this time in isolation at least we can be alone together.” says Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong. Armstrong took to his bedroom studio to record a cover of the 1967 hit by Tommy James & the Shondells, “I Think We’re Alone Now“.

In the video’s description on YouTube, Armstrong explains “While we’ve all been in quarantine I’ve been reflecting on the things that matter the most in my life. Family, friends and of course music.”

Covering early rock and roll isn’t something new for Armstrong. He recorded an entire album of Everly Brothers covers with Norah Jones with their 2013 album Foreverly.
