Alt-Rock Trio Sugar Returns With First New Music In Over Three Decades

Sugar, the alternative rock trio of Bob Mould on vocals and guitar, David Barbe on bass, and Malcolm Travis on drums, have released their first new music in more than 30 years with House Of Dead Memories.

In addition to the new single, Sugar’s essential 1992 debut album, Copper Blue, will be celebrated with Copper Blue – The Singles Collection, a limited edition 4LP box set to be released by BMG on Record Store Day Black Friday, November 28. The new box set includes favorites Changes, A Good Idea, and If I Can’t Change Your Mind and live recordings from Sugar’s 1992 performance at Chicago’s Cabaret Metro.

The band has lots planned for 2026. Performances include first live performances together since January 1995, set for New York City’s Webster Hall on Saturday, May 2nd and Sunday, May 3rd as well as London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town on Saturday, May 23 and Sunday, May 24, 2026. –David Barbe says “I am really looking forward to these shows.
