Dave Gutter Releases Solo Album The Music Industry is Trying to Kill Me

Maine’s own Dave Gutter has never stopped creating. As a founding member of both Rustic Overtones and Paranoid Social Club, to his numerous musical projects with friends (OYSTAHGUTT, Armies, Beards), to his Grammy award winning songwriting for artists like Aaron Neville and Tedeschi Trucks Band. Despite all the music Gutter has created, he never released a solo album…until now.

The Music Industry is Trying to Kill Me, Gutter’s first full-length solo album. The concept album follows the darker, often absurd side of being a starving artist. According to Gutter, the concept behind the album came during an existential crisis that stemmed from conversations Gutter had with Dave Godowsky and Evan Smith while lobbying for musician’s rights in Congress.

TMITOKM was produced by Gutter with additional production help from Evan Smith (Bleachers), Matt Perry and Anthony Gatti.
