Air Traffic Controller & Gauntlet Films Asks How Far Would You Go For Love In New Video For “This Is Love”

Thanks to social media old songs can find new life. Air Traffic Controller’s album Black Box was released in 2016 but the track This Is Love has found new life. Originally the song was written quickly by lead singer Dave Munro for an indie-filmmaker friend in need of a dark track to complete another project. “The lyrics are pure doom and gloom, entangled in a horrible domestic violence crisis.”, says Munro, “When I sing the words, this is love, it is clearly sarcastic, so as always with ATC, there is a message. If this is love, it’s certainly not the kind anyone deserves.”

Eight years later the song has new video, created by Gauntlet Films. Inspired by the late 1977 legend of the Dover Demon of Dover, MA, this new take on This Is Love tells the story of a couple that encounters the demon on their wedding night. It’s safe to say the honeymoon is over pretty quick.

Munro adds, “When Rob asked me if I’d like to be murdered on film, I couldn’t say no, I mean, offers like that don’t come around often! I remember sitting in a bathtub full of freezing cold “blood” with a camera spinning over my head filming the opening shot. It was a grueling day, but I kept telling myself, “it’s fine, I’m already dead!”

Black Box, which also included tracks like The House and People Watching (which can still be heard on WHSN to this day) will be rereleased in a special vinyl edition later this year. Keep up with the band at airtrafficcontrollermusic.com
