Bear Hands Return With First New Music In Five Years With “Intrusive Thoughts”

Following the release of their 2019 album Fake Tunes, Bear Hands took it easy for a while. Vocalist Dylan Rau moved to the Oregon coast and tried his hands other things but he still worked on writing songs throughout the pandemic. Five years later the band which also includes drummer TJ Orscher and bassist Val Loper have released the new single Intrusive Thoughts.

Speaking about Intrusive Thoughts, Rau says it’s “the song that’s playing in my head all day and I can’t get it out. I think I wrote it about being bored of everything and feeling dissatisfied with everyone and everything around me.”

This fall the band will tour celebrating the 10th anniversary of their album Distraction, which included tracks like Agora and Giants. The Distraction 10 tour stops in Cambridge, MA at the Middle East Downstairs on November 2nd.
