The Smashing Pumpkins Share New Single “Beguiled” & Announce 3-Part Rock Opera ATUM
The Smashing Pumpkins have announced a 3-part rock opera titled ATUM (pronounced “autumn”) that will be released over 3 different dates in November, January, & April. The first release from the 33-track project is the newly-shared song “Beguiled”, which debuts a new video today at 12:33 ET.
Along with the new opera, fans can learn more about the band with the new podcast “Thirty Three with William Patrick Corgan” which has shared its first two episodes
According to a release from the band, ATUM is the sequel to 1995’s Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness and 2000’s Machina/Machines of God. Each act of eleven songs will come out every eleven weeks on digital streaming platforms to coincide with the podcast. Act 1 on November 15, 2022. Act 2 on January 31, 2023. Act 3 along with a special edition boxset featuring all 33 album tracks plus 10 additional unreleased songs, will be released on April 21, 2023.
