The Jaded Hearts Club Supergroup Releases New Single Covering Marvin Gaye
The Jaded Hearts Club, a supergroup formed in 2017, have released a new single, which is a cover of the 1967 Marvin Gaye tune “This Love Starved Heart of Mine (It’s Killing Me)“.
Featuring member of Muse, Jet, Blue, the Last Shadow Puppets, and the Zutons seek to “shed light on some of the greatest lost songs ever written” says Jaded Hearts band member Matt Belamy (guitarist and vocalist for the band Muse). Other members include Nic Cester from Jet, Graham Coxon from Blur, Miles Kane of the Last Shadow Puppets, Sean Payne of the Zutons, and Jamie Davis.
“As soon as I heard This Love Starved Heart Of Mine” says Davis, “I knew Nic Cester from Jet is one of the few people who could actually sing it. Nic’s vocal has that gut-wrenching on-pitch scream and raw charisma that provide the driving power needed. The track is like a runaway train – big, brassy, brash… a soul classic.”
The band is working on an album of lost classic tracks like This Love Starved Heart of Mine. Marvin Gaye recorded the track in 1967 but it wasn’t released from Motown until 30 years later.
