Boston-Based Sophie’s Body Shares Single “Long Term Loaner” Ahead Of Debut Album

Boston-area self-described bubble-grunge band Sophie’s Body has announced their debut album Zero will be released independently October 30th. Along with the announcement hte band (Sophie McMinn, Dylan Hughes, Harry Van Der Meer, and Adam Hurt) have also shared their new single Long Term Loaner.

While the song started life as an ode to a broken guitar pedal, it grew to mean more. McMinn’s beloved reverb pedal broke leaving her with a loaner from her local guitar store.“I started playing around with the homophone “loner”, and that’s where I get into my angst a bit more,” she says, “This was not a fun period in my life, I was feeling lonely, and really grasping for purpose post-college graduation.”
