Dottie Andersson Shares New Track “Marlow”
Swedish songwriter Dottie Andersson’s latest track Marlow is all about small movements, where almost imperceptibly you arrives in a spot different from where you started. “Marlow First is about what it feels like to be used to push someone else’s confidence” says Andersson. “It’s a tale of two bridges, one that was built in Marlow and as soon as it stood the test of time it was rebuilt in Budapest. And that’s kind of what I felt like…I was pushed so slowly that I didn’t even notice that I was falling, all while holding up someone else’s confidence.“
Andersson’s debut album, Andersson Funeral Home, will be released September 4th via Royal Mountain Records. With the album’s title, the funeral home is a metaphor for emotional processing and closure – a place where feelings can be worked out instead of being repressed. “When someone suddenly leaves your life, it’s unnatural to just erase them, pretend they were never there” Andersson explains. “They stay in your heart for a while. There, they’re taken care of, grieved, forgiven, hated, loved. The heart becomes a kind of funeral home. Eventually, when time finally allows, the feeling is buried – not bitterly, but gratefully. Only in this way, there is a possibility to move on.”
