Maine’s Own Broadwing Release Debut Album ‘Duck And Cover’

After an EP and numerous singles, Maine trio Broadwing have just released their debut album; Duck And Cover. Throughout the album vocalist Dave Swillum, guitarist Zach Zyla, & drummer Gage Gallant rip through the 12 cuts including previously released singles New England Baby (feat. Michael Christmas), if U let me, FAMOU$, & Goddamn, and the opener AliBYE which you can hear on WHSN.
AliBYE starts the album off on a positive note in my mind” says guitarist Dave Swillum. “I was having a tough day and speaking with a close friend saying why can’t current me handle this same situation as past me could and has and they said ‘you aren’t that person anymore. I think if you met that version of yourself you may not even get along or be able to communicate with him that person is gone so it makes sense that you are approaching this same situation differently because you are a different person’. AliBYE is about letting go of former narratives of who you were and where and how you did things / former versions of your self and stories that you tell about why you did what you did long ago and writing something new.
For the new album, Broadwing worked with Songwriter/Producer/Mixer Tom Denney (A Day To Remember, Sounds Like Color) at Denney’s studio in Florida. Duck And Cover is a coming to full adulthood through harsh realities going from 20s to 30s and feeling that a lot of ways you find that life works wasn’t what you were told or explained when you were younger.” says Swillum. “These stories are from challenging turning points in our lives and looking back at good and bad times through them.”

Broadwing will celebrate the release of Duck And Cover with two sold out album release shows 4/23 at Blue in Portland and 4/25 at BADBGR in Manchester, NH. You can keep up with the band at broadwingmusic.com
