After 15 Year Hiatus The Sophomore Beat Returns With “Sad As Hell”

It was 15 years ago, following the release of their Party Like A Lobster EP. when Maine’s The Sophomore Beat hung it up as a band. The band was well loved by fans, with numbers like Hey Baby, I Went To College, We Took The City On, & Little Sister but life had other plans. Still, like any band made up of true friends, there was always a chance the Beat would be back.

Now the Sophomore Beat is back with a brand new single, Sad As Hell.

“15 years ago, the four of us walked away from The Sophomore Beat thinking we’d most likely never write music for this band ever again.” says the band on social media. “Over the next decade and a half, we played a handful of sporadic shows, each one being more fun than the last. Somewhere along the way, the spark came back. We became inspired again. And eventually, we decided to bring back The Sophomore Beat for good.

The band has teased that this is just the beginning, saying there’s more to come.
