Michigander Gets “Emotional” With New Single Ahead Of Debut Album
Michigander, the music project led by Jason Singer, has been releasing music with singles and EPs for years. Now, ten years after starting the project, Singer will release a self-titled Michigander album February 7th via Totally Normal Records/Thirty Tigers. “The last 10 years were awesome,” Singer says. “Everything built up to this point though. To make an analogy, the EPs were like television episodes of my story, and the album is the movie version. It’s blown up on the big screen. I’m just getting started, but this is my introduction to the world.” Following the previously released single Giving Up, Michigander has now released the track Emotional and its accompanying lyric video.
“‘Emotional’ was one of the first songs Jeremy Lutito (who produced the whole record) and I wrote together.” says Singer. “He had that synth bass and drum beat idea that sort of goes throughout the entire song. The song is about trying to progress as a human in spite of being human. I think most people are just trying their best, and that’s all we can really do.”
“I’ve worked my whole life to create my first album,” continues Singer, “and this moment truly feels like a special one. With the release of ‘Emotional’ I finally get to share this feeling with my fans and let them know it’s coming. I can’t wait for people to hear it and to play all this music live.
Michigander is out on tour now in support of the new album with a stop in Boston November 12th at Brighton Music Hall.
