Weezer Enters Never Neverland With Their Cover Of Enter Sandman For Metallica’s The Blacklist
Weezer is known for their spot-on covers, everyone knows their note-for-note cover of Toto’s Africa and their “Teal Album” that was a collection of covers that also included songs by the Turtles, TLC, and Tears For Fears. Their latest cover is part of the massive collection celebrating Metallica’s Black album.
As part of The Metallica Blacklist, Weezer has covered Enter Sandman and, just like you’d expect from their previous covers, it stays pretty true to the original. With the newly released cover and accompanying video, the band goes for full Weeztallica, save for a cute riff throwback to their 1994 hit Buddy Holly. Weezer’s profits will benefit Dhamma Mahavana, a fully developed non-sectarian center offering regularly scheduled courses in Vipassana meditation, to help residents come out of suffering to achieve a peaceful mind and a happy, productive life.
As we previously reported, The Metallica Blacklist is an exhaustive collection of 53 different covers of tracks from Metallica’s Black album, will the entire collection being released September 10th.
Weezer is currently on tour with Green Day, Fall Out Boy, and guests the Interrupters as part of the Hella Mega tour, which will stop Thursday night at Fenway Park in Boston.
