Alt-J Frontman Joe Newman Shares Video For “Brush Me Like A Horse” From New Solo Project JJerome87

alt-J frontman Joe Newman, now making his own music under the moniker JJerome87, has shared the video for his debut single Brush Me Like A Horse. Directed by alex takác, the video “is an acid western about a man condemned to die in a cruel, humiliating public spectacle.” says takác. “Joe Newman came to me with the vivid image of a state execution via treadmill, and it immediately conjured this whole narrative world. 

In an almost Kafka-esque fashion, Newmans says “[Brush Me Like A Horse] is the story of a man slowly turning into a horse. This metamorphosis has the world around him forgetting who he is as people begin to care for him more and more like a horse. This song was inspired partly by something I’d seen a friend go through. They didn’t turn into a horse, but their reputation went through a metamorphosis.”
