Σtella’s “Adagio” Is A Delicious Meal Of A Song
Most meals are humdrum. They’re not bad, but they don’t move you. The same can be said for music. Some music demands your attention, just like a delicious bite of food. With that in mind it’s no wonder that the video for Adagio, the title track of Σtella’s new album, finds a woman getting weak in the knees from a delicious meal.
Σtella’s new album was written and recorded over the past five years and includes collaborators like Rafael Cohen of !!! and songwriter/instrumentalist Gabriel Stebbing. While the majority of the tracks are sung in English, Σtella sings her first two songs in Greek on this album —“Omorfo Mou,” and a cover of a 1969 cult classic of the Greek New Wave, Litsa Sakelariou’s “Ta Vimata.”
