Muse Goes Metal On New Track “Won’t Stand Down”

Back in December Muse guitarist Matt Bellamy teased a new “metal” track was coming from the band and today they delivered with the new track Won’t Stand Down, as well as the accompanying music video. Wont Stand Down starts in usual Muse fashion but by the end you can tell the band has ratcheted everything up to 11.

‘Won’t Stand Down’ is a song about standing your ground against bullies,” says Bellamy. “…whether that be on the playground, at work or anywhere…Protecting yourself from coercion and sociopathic manipulation and to face adversity with strength, confidence and aggression“. The video has a mysterious individual (wearing a rubber mask of Bellamy’s own face) controlling an army of black-clad army with Edward Scissorhands-esque wires. The song and video both rise to a massive crescendo, with the controlling figure transforming into a dark, rising creature.

Won’t Stand Down is available now on all platforms.
