NESCom Students Bring Stephen King Story To Life With Latest Short Film

Each year the students of the New England School of Communications at Husson University work on a video large-scale project, usually culminating in a short film. For 2021 the students worked through a pandemic to write, produce, shoot, and edit a new short film based on a short story by Stephen King.

Based on the short story That Feeling, You Can Only Say What It Is In French, was first published The New Yorker in 1998 and included in King’s 2002 collection Everything’s Eventual.

It’s not the first time the students have brought one of King’s stories to life. In 2011 students made a short film based on the story the Last Rung On The Ladder (from 1978’s Night Shift collection). Other films have included work by J.K. Rowling (the Tale of the Three Brothers), and an all original musical (When The Music Changes).

All the work on the new King adaptation was done by Video/Film Production and Audio Engineering students under the faculty oversight of instructor Frank Welch.
