Like many beloved Fall events in the area, the annual Fright at the Fort at historic Fort Knox has been cancelled. The hugely popular Halloween tradition is the largest annual fundraiser for the Friends Of Fort Knox, the non-profit that is “dedicated to preserving the Fort and enhancing its educational, cultural and economic value for the people of Maine“. Fans of the haunted fort tradition will now have to wait until 2021 to once again brave the spooky nooks and crannies of Fort Knox but they can still support the cause while rockin’ some new threads.
Until October 14th fans of Fright at the Fort can order a t-shirt or sweatshirt emblazoned with a special “scare you next year” message with proceeds to benefit the Friends Of Fort Knox. The shirts are being sponsored (and made) by W.S. Emerson in Brewer.
A year without a haunted fort is a scary thought but these shirts and sweatshirts will help ensure that the Friends can get back to their frightful ways next year.
The deadline for ordering is October 14th so order yours today.
